Earlier, I went to Timezone in MoA. Yeah I see the usual racing games, rhythm games, Tekken and stuff like that. However, for some strange reason, it seems that, I have lost interest in arcade gaming. As in, for the past 4 years I've been going back and forth to Timezone MoA, if not play DDR, play Initial D4 or Maximum Tune 3DX. However, earlier, I just felt like, enough is enough. For once I somewhat realized that, I don't see the point in doing this anymore. It's as if I'm no longer motivated to play these kinds of games anymore.
I'm listing down probably some of the reasons why I suddenly "gave up" on these kinds of games. Probably one cause is that the old DDR machine in TZ MoA has been replaced by "In The Groove", which is like DDR but I dunno, it doesn't really have the same feel. But I dunno, this reason sounds a bit too childish to be quite honest.
Another reason I could think of is that, it feels as if it's just another boring routine, and consequently because of that, I just lost interest. I've been doing this mindlessly for the past 4 years and it's just right now that I realize, "hey I'm doing this ad infinitum and I've could have used the money for those games for something useful, like Level-up cards, or saved them up for a PS2." As knowing me, if I keep on doing the same thing ad inifinitum, unless what I do gets something different once in a while(i.e. Ragnarok patches, programming changes, new animu to watch and shit like that), I'll just end up losing interest and eventually stop. And personally, I do think this is probably the reason why decided to stop hanging out on the arcade.
Well, other reasons may include the usual ones like "bah screw arcades, may DotA naman, may CS naman, heck, kahit Left4Dead2 nga mas nakakaaliw sa mga arcade games na iyan eh, kahit mario nga mas nakakaaliw nga dyan eh" or "lulz, go play console games" or even better "get a fucking emulator and play it at home, at least libre", but meh. I won't list them down here, I got little time.
But as Marion told me a few months ago, give up on something and you'll end up becoming stronger in other aspects. Maybe he could be right. Even though I gave up on arcade gaming, still I might end up becoming better in other aspects like online, pc and console gaming, programming or even better academics. Who knows?
In the end though, I kinda lost interest in arcade gaming. I've been doing this for around a few years and so but as it turns out, it was just a waste of time and money. I could've wasted 4 years worth of arcade money buying stuff from Perfect World's Item mall or get myself a PS2 or a PS2 emulator and buy a few JRPGS or something related to that, and I could've use that amount of time to improve myself better in other aspects of my self-consciousness. Arcade gaming was once one of my favorite past times, but nowadays, I dunno, I kinda preferred sticking in front of my pc, getting the highest level possible and fight for the glory of Rune-Midgard.
And yeah, I know there are some people who will be disappointed or even better angry with my decision, so I must apologize. But I shall stand clear with my word and my word is truth. I'm giving up arcade gaming for good.
See you in the City of Prontera.
